Hello All, I have a rather large problem...My computer has gone on the
fritz. It Blue Screened then shut down and when it restarted the BIOS
reported a strange number for the HDD IDE-0 then went to the next
screen and couldn't find IDE-0, couldn't find FDD so it wont go any
further. If I have to I will just replace IDE-0 and start again as all
the important data is backed up and most programs etc are installed on
D:. But it will be a real pain to restore all of the links to the new
OS. If you have any suggestions they would be most welcome. Thank You
in Advance. Eric.

Not clear what you mean there. Maybe you mean it couldnt find
a bootable hard drive and couldnt find a bootable floppy drive either.

That wont help if you have to replace the boot drive.
You'll have to install them again to get them into the
registry unless you have that backed up as well.

Not practical in fact.
If you have any suggestions they would be most welcome.

Replace the drive, reinstall the OS on it, reinstall
the programs, restore the backed up data.

Eric,

I have all my HDs mounted in removable disk trays. I occasionally get
something similar(garbage displayed when the BIOS auto-detects) if I fail to
push the drive home properly. It might be worth checking that all of your
cables are properly connected.
