How can I boot to dos mode. Can I create a bootable
floppy to do this and how?
I apparently need to flash my bios but cannot get past an
error that reads
Cannot find AWDFLASH.EXE insert system disk
Downloaded file containing the AWDFLASH.EXE but it cannot
find the file.
If I am understanding the instructions correctly I need
to boot to dos mode first in order to use the Flash
Memory Writer utility(AWDFLASH.EXE and then create a
bootable system disk.

create bootable disk (see www.bootdisk.com, as suggested by other poster).

Copy awdflash.exe and appropriate bin file to diskette.

boot from diskette.

from a:\ >_ , type:

awdflash.exe <filename.bin>

where <filename.bin> is the real name of the bin file.

how you possibly thought the directions suggested that you use awdflash.exe
to create a bootable disk, i will never know.

alt.comp.periphs.mainboard

is a good place for help too. there are also groups specific to your board
maker, such as mainboard.abit, .asus, .gigabyte... etc.
