ok

i'm running win2000 pro (or at least i was...)
i hit the del button during boot up to access setup even
though i was repeatedly warned not to (due to previous
blonde blunders)
so i was just dinking around in there and i opted to
create a password

now, when i boot up it wants my password which is fine,
except i type in my password and it won't accept it.
i KNOW i'm blonde, but i KNOW which password i told it and
the damn thing just hates me!

i need help, and i have less than 5 hours to fix this
thing, or i'll be another blonde in the unemployment line -
PLEASE HELP!!!

i, [state my name], promise, vow, affirm and swear, that
if i ever get out of this one i will NEVER, NEVER E V E R
again go into the bios on any computer anywhere for as
long as i live.

Kimberly, if the password contains both numbers and letters, check the
Num Lock key to be sure it's ON when you enter the password.

Also check that the Shift Lock isn't on.

I assume you mean you entered a BIOS PASSWORD.

Get on the Internet and find the USERS MANUAL for your system's
motherboard. Somewhere there is likely a jumper to clear the CMOS
password. You very likely need both specific info. for that system and
you will need to open the case... If that sounds beyond you find
someone you can beg/borrow/steal nearby that can tackle this operation
for you.

I see a lot of perfectly good posts with actual problem
statements but no replies, but mamma's-boy losers chose to
answer this one with no information whatsoever in the
Subject. Just so you know: "She" is probably some 50-ish
gay man who knows how to pull little boys' strings.

Mark V is right it's the only way to get out of this
I've found in 10yrs tweeking these thinks. It will be
either two solder points you jump with tweesers or a 3 pin
jumper set 1-2 normal, 2-3 bios default, back to 1-2
normal.
Good luck Kimberly
