bios and drivers

I had to erase hard disk and installed Window xp upgrading from 98. I don't have a vga card because it is integrated. I would like to reinstall bios, I went to manufacturer's website, Pcchipsusa found everything I need but I don't know what to do with it. I downlowded bios file, flash file. I tried to go to dos and enter command: c:\>aminf336.exe 010822s.rom and it does not work, it always tell me bad command.... I also tried the pcchipsusa website where when I rightclick on amibios however in the dialog box I cannot activate "open link" cause it is not highlighted. what can I do now? pleas

The file you downloaded is likely a selfextracting zip file.
Double click on it in windows and you'll be asked where
you want the files extracted.
But what do you mean by reinstall the BIOS? formatting the
drive wouldn't effect your BIOS. What problems are you
having?

Before you make another attempt, you ought to know that if you try to flash
the bios and it fails, the power goes out, or you cancel prematurely, you
may kill your motherboard, with no easy way to recover.

Knowing that, think about whether you really need to flash your bios, and if
so, whether you want to do this yourself.
 
I did a online bios upgrade for no good reason, the connection failed and I
was out a pc until they sent me a new chip.
 
thanks all for your replies, may be I explained it wrong, what I am missing are devices for "pci simple communications controller" and Video controller (VGA compatible). My problem exactly is that my computer is functionning only in 16 colors and I cannot access some internet sites to play games.
 
Lucky it was a removable chip and not soldered on, or it would have been
much more interesting.

And what do you hope to achieve by flashing the BIOS?! You need to download
the appropriate drivers - the BIOS has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do
with it!
 
The PCI simple communications controller is your modem. You'll need to get
drivers for that and for your video card. Flashing the bios would not help
at all.

S T O P!!!!!

For god's sake STOP what you are doing. If you don't realize that
your problems having nothing at all to do with your BIOS, you need to
pack up your box and take it to a shop and let them take care of your
problems.

Continue down the path you are taking and you are going to end up with
a very expensive doorstop or paperweight.
