Bind(bond) 2+ NICs to increase bandwidth for broadband.

Would someone please direct me to information or tell me themselves how to
"bond" or bind two or more NIC cards. I primarily would like to increase
upload speeds over the Internet (HTTP, FTP) with my cable connection.
My first connection is a Realtek 10/100Mbps NIC with a PCI connection ...
the second is an on-board MCP 10/100Mbps (on-board LAN) on a MSI K7N2G-L
mainboard. I use a router (switch variety) to accomplish up to four
concurrent connections.

I'm not sure how you would do that, but I can tell you that unless you have a
gigabit ethernet line coming into your router it's not going to speed anything
up. A single network card only uses a fraction of it's available bandwidth to
max out a highspeed connection.

remind me not to go to compTIA...

Very illogical Grant. The 10/100Mbps speeds are only acheived in LANs, maybe
WANs, but not Intranets. Universally, cable broadband supports downloads
around 230Kbps and uploads around 30Kbps at VBRs. According to a broadcast
by TechTV (U.S.) you very well can bind two + NICs. The 1000Mbps (which is
not a true Gigabit speed) is only seen on LANs or WANs running server OSs.

This is not possible with native XP software. Some NICs from companies like
Intel and Compaq come with "teaming" software, but those are usually in high
end server machines.

FYI - being worked for a broadband company, the upload speed is capped at
the head end, the download usually at the modem.

The limiting factor is on the cable side of the modem, not the LAN side,
even if you only have a 10 Mb/s LAN. So, even if you find some software
that claims to drive a pair of LANs in parallel between your PC and
your cable modem, there would be no significant increase in upload
datarate.

That's what I said, but he called me illogical.
