Microsoft Moviemaker is a piece of crap. If this is the best that Gates and
Ballmer can produce, they should get out of the software business. This
program sucks. Bigtime. I suggest that anybody who wants to do anything
involving assembling movies should spend the money for a real program. This
one crashes every time you try to do anything with it. It's a piece of
garbage.

If you are interested to fix the crashing problem rather than just empty
your mind out... go to www.papajon.org > Problem Solving > Hangs and Crashes

You may be sufferring from the common issue of codec conflict. It can be
easily fixed.

hope once it is all up and running you will come back to post something
positive.

Yeah I know what moron's!
That's why they've only made billions upon billions of dollars huh?
Negativity doesn't get you very far here.

Well I'm not a Microsoft butt Kisser but I have never had any problems with
Movie Maker 2. It is a bit limited but considering it is free download I
can't complain too much. MovieFactory 2(ULEAD) has given me headaches
though. Again that came free too with my DVD burner so I can't whine too
much there either.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

You know, Adobe Premiere is only 699.00.

But I'll tell ya, before you run out today and buy it, stop by their forums,
you think we have problems here...

Movie Factory 2 caused me quite a few headaches too as well as a lot of
coasters.
Movie Factory 3 however has never created a coaster for me.

actually for me it works flawless but Nerovision Express is crashing every time
when transcoding big projects ;) MS is not perfect but at least it's up to the
job..

Nope, I'm thinking more like first cousin to Al and John....

Once MM2 is learned and you have good effects and transitions and
overlays....none of the others can approach the intuitiveness, speed, or
efficiency of this manual approach to movie making. I'm far more proud of MM
movies than anything I've made on Premiere or even Vegas.....but I don't slam
them either, since you can never have too many tools in your arsenal. I use
Vegas a lot because you can import 'flash' or 'swf' files into and render
them into video formats which I can then use in my movies and edit in MM2
also. So...there are ways and then there are ways....those who grump
begrudge Gates, but he changed the world with his inventions and the
complainers i'm sure have had soooooo much more to offer right? Dang, MM2
makes on philosophical too!

Oh I don't know, I kind of liked the comment that Gates should get out of
the software business.
Kind of makes "Captain Marvel" look stupid.

By the way, I didn't know anybody used the word "Dang" these days. ;-)

You are right, where did THAT come from. Maybe from Dang Nabbit Dat Wabbit
from Elmer Fudd.....my philosophical beginnings have been unmasked!!! ha ha

I have downloaded Vegas as I need to see if there are editors out there
that will do a few more things... multiple audio tracks etc etc. grab fast
pan tilt zoom... but...

if I want to do something quick I find myself going back and using
moviemaker...

I have had very few problems with it.
