Here's some pix of a big wheel we've had installed locally.

A ferris wheel, if you will, not as high as the London Eye, it's still 60 metres high.

I haven't been on it yet but I will be going on it and when I do I'll take some snaps.

Two pix of the early stages, assembly:

The pic that appeared on the BBC news site as 'Pic Of The Day'

This is what it looks like from my new home:

And at night from where I live:

And two pix from last night, six of us went on a pub crawl, quite an extraordinary sunset:

Hey it looks cool though, and in Greenwhich you don't have to contend with the high buildings as the London Eye do ya..?

Some superb pics there Flopp's especially the last one of the sunset..

You a lucky bug having that as close to you...Is it a temporary thing or is it staying put for all time...

That Nikon coolpix S500 takes some good shots in the twilight, did you program those sunset shots or just fire away on automatic..

MMG: No really high buildings in the immediate vicinity, no.

CL: All taken with the Coolpix S500 except pic No. 5, the night shot, which was taken with a D40X on auto everything.

Thanks, all, for the comments :)

Great pics there Flops - like crazylegs I really like that last one :)

We've got a wheel almost identical to that in Manchester, and it's been there almost permanently for a few years now. :thumb:

It's good fun to go on when it's Bonfire night as you get to see all the fireworks from a height :D

Great pix Flopps, the last one is super, but I also like the view across the roof-tops, for the chimneys and intriguing glimpses of landscape between them. :thumb: :D

Saw an article on The Wheel on London Tonight.
Looks to be in a good area by the old Royal Navy College.
Have you been on it yet?

A few supplementary pix:

From the same evening, this sunset was short lived, only lasted about ten minutes:

The Cutty Sark Pub has a new landlord. After suffering two miserable so-and-so's looks like we have a nice couple running the joint now. Here's one half of that couple, from the same evening:

And much later in the evening, here's Andy, after singing 'Ebenezer Good' at Karaoke. I hate Karaoke, I went home shortly afterwards...

Here's an Ocean Liner I could see from my patio. Quite an odd experience for me. Quite a few boats stop there as they take in Greenwich as part of a world cruise.

I done the Disco for the two Barrys a few weeks ago, here's a few snaps from it. That's young barry and his dad, by the way.

Not that well attended, it was hard to get the music right, half wanted house the rest wanted rock. Had to mix it up. And half the time peeps was going outside for a smoke

This is a pic of three very odd houses in Blackheath, near me. I've never seen houses like this anywhere else, they're kinda skinny. I like them.

And finally, a few views from my humble abode:

Like the others, I enjoyed the extra pix too :thumb: always love to see your London views  Those white houses are interesting, are they genuinely "old" do you know? Or just clever architecture? :D

I have not a clue I'm afraid

I'd like to know myself, I'll have a look in the local library, there may just be information, they have a lot of local stuff.

To one and all who have replied - Thank You :)

nice Greenwich looks like a nice place to live with that thing in the skies.
