I'll assume that you are referring to activation, and that the time expired.
You'll need to start over by formatting the drive partition where you
installed XP, then reinstalling. If you boot from the XP CD, there should be
an option to format the selected install partition before installing.
Your question seemed to indicate that you installed XP with the drive
connected to one PC, then moved the drive to a different PC? That will not
work unless the hardware in the two PC's is identical (motherboard, video
card, etc., etc.). When XP installs, drivers for the hardware encountered
are installed with it. Thus the installation will not work correctly with
different hardware.

How do I do that? When I turn on the computer with or without the disc in
place it goes straight to the log on screen.. it asks if I want to validate
now, when i click yes it goes to my screen saver for a few seconds and then
back to the windows welcome logging off

BTW No, i didn't try to move anything, just seemed silly to be complaining
about not being able to open windows when I was obviously typing you a message

You need to enter your computer's BIOS setup (the steps for getting into the
BIOS vary by machine, so you'll need to consult your documentation.) and set
the boot device sequence to place your optical drive as the first option.
Once you've done that, place your XP CD in the drive and start the computer.
It should start from the XP CD.
If your are unfamiliar with the terminology, or uncomfortable with changing
BIOS settings, you should seek assistance from somebody who is and is local
to you.
