I have a big problem! After I deleted a few programs from my computer (I
delete for ex. Divx Player, Outlook Express and a few cookies), and now I
can't watch any of the clips I have downloaded from my DV Camera. Now I even
went to "Tools", "Options" and unselected all the little boxes in my Movie
Maker, but there are still red crosses through the files and I cannot open
it...please help me!!
Thanks

If you right click the red Xs you
will have an option to Browse
for the missing files.

well I tried that, but I had my clips originally saved in the movie
maker...is there any possibility that my clips are still on my computer?! I
mean I didn't delete them!!!
Thanks!

Can't say for you, but I work on my movies in the C: drive. After
burning the disk, I move the movie file to my external hard drive.
If I open the "Collections", the collections files show up with a big
red X on them. If I move the movie files back to C:, the X goes away.

If you, like me, move the files from their original location or
partition or folder to free up room on the original drive, the files
are still available. Use the "search" feature.

The X is just telling you that the files are not in the folder that
was last used.

The clips are not saved in the Movie Maker
project file....the clips are still in the original
folders unless you moved or deleted them.

Thank you very much!
I tried to fix the problem, but I think the original location IS WMM... I
tried to search for the files, and when I opened them, they automatically
open with WMM and I cannot watch them. The X are still there. Maybe I didn't
save the files...because when I try to open ONE clip, they show the whole
project with all the Xes on my clips :(
Thank you very much for trying!!! I appreciate that!!
I thought maybe you know a program which I could download, so I could open
the clips individually...?!

well thanks!! But I DID save my clips in the WMM originally...

They are listed in your collections in WMM but the actual clips are stored
as always in a folder on your harddrive. WMM just uses the clips from their
original locations.
So if you didn't delete them then you need to, as John said, right click and
choose "Browse for missing files" then locate them.
