BIG Problem with a backed up Outlook.pst file HELP PLEASE!

Hi there,

I recently had a big problem with a crash on my computer
and accidentally wiped the hard drive..(stupid i know)

Though I thought however that I may have saved my outlook
files as I had backed up the information from the
folowing folder:

I hoped it would be a simple matter of reinstalling the
software and replacing the files with the ones i backed
up but when i do this I get the following error message:

this seems odd as the Outlook.pst file is clearly an
outlook file, could it be damaged in someway? would
anyone know how i can retrieve information from it?

Any help would be most kind.

Make sure the pst-file is not marked as "Read Only" and open it by File->
Open-> Outlook Data File...

If this doesn't work run scanpst.exe against the file and try again.

What error message? You didn't include it.
