when i try to print (using Epson C60, running Vista, all drivers updated) I
get message "parameters incorrect",when I try to access status monitor I get
message "Bidirectional communication must be establised in order to access
the Monitored printers dialog box" what does this mean ????????
 
How old is this model?Have you been able to access the status monitor
successfully anytime?

In the BIOS there are different modes for the parallel port. I forget the
names of them, as I haven't had a parallel printer for years, but you could
try one of the other ones.

Bidirectional - it means the PC cannot send the instruction to the printer
or visa versa, to produce the satus report.
Sometimes the method of connecting the printer to pc causes this, or that
the incorrect cable has been used.
 
My printer is about 5 years old, and have until recently been using it quite
happily with XP, never had any problems
 
Am using USB not parallel port...

Have been using this printer with Xp, no problems, with USB connection. the
only thing that haschanged is os.

Your problem is that Epson doesn't have any Vista drivers for the C60.

Guess what that means?
 
You mention drivers are updated, did you obtain them directly from Epsom?
Anything on Epsom FAQ's?
