BEWARE! PCMedik has trojan!!

BEWARE!!!!!! PCMedik has Trojan.




I installed PC Medik and it took over my computer. It phoned home to
somewhere and put up a screen that wouldn't even let me start any
other programs.

It also disabled my floppy drive so I couldn't boot from a floppy disk
to disable it.


I spent hours before I finally located this thing and deleted it
permanently.

I am going to rebuilld my registry now and delete any reference to
this crap.

Never heard of it - did you download it from a trusted site?

The floppy drive is BIOS, and I thought that changing BIOS is not an
easy matter from a booted computer.

Better take a look at your BIOS settings before you get too far along.
They have been known to change themselves. Very, very rare, but it happens.

And, little brothers or sons sometimes help it along.

2) Where did you get the key to install PCMedik?

Googling for PCMedik, it would appear that this is a popular download
among the gaming/warez crowd.
