better version of DVApp?

I like DVapp's ability to capture DV type 1. However, it is very buggy --
sometimes it says capturing but is not. Is there a version that is less
buggy or is there an alternative for type 1 capture?

I have verion 9.0.
 
I think you have the latest version of DVApp. Version 9 came with DirectX 9
SDK.

Get WinDV from http://windv.mourek.cz/

I am sure you would like WinDV more: its capture and upload is very reliable
and also supports both DV Type I and II.
