In adding a song to a presentation it would be more
convient if it was in a more user friendly format.
This there anyway that you can incorporate a sound file
w/ stop/play/fastforeward buttons? The speaker icon is
very unprofessional and can be a nusiamce for people who
might not want to listen to the whole song...
Thank you

Christina,

You can drag the speaker icon off the edge of the page it you find it not to
your liking.

Christina,

Is this another game of "guess your version"? <g>

sorry, I have Microsoft Office Standard 2002

Its not that I dont' like the icon, I wan to have audio
play in a format such as WMP where you can
play/stop/fastforword during the presentation instead of
your only optition of having the whole song play w/o any
control.

Christina,

Try using Insert>Object>Create From File. Then select your sound file.

What this does is call whatever application is the default player (normally
Windows Media Player) instead of using the MCI (standard PowerPoint) player
and all of your controls are there as expected.

If you don't want to see the entire Media Player you can also insert the
media player itself as a control and then select which options you want to
be seen/used.

Hmm OK,

I had no luck with that, all it brough up for me was a different
colored speaker icon. I'm currently using PP XP

Right-click the speaker, choose Edit. See if there are options to show the
playback bar, etc.
