Beta update will not validate

XP/SP2 here.

My Beta worked great until professional replacement of
the crashed harddrive. Nothing was recoverable, had to
reinstall my programs from scratch so I lost my original
PID. After the latest Beta download wouldn't validate, I
uninstalled the original. Every attempt ends
with "Validation Failure: Invalid product Key - product
key was never issued by Microsoft" even thou' the Tech.
confirmed it to be a valid certificate.
I don't know what to do anymore. Thank you for any help.

You need to get this fixed with the help of the tech who
did the repair work. What physical evidence do you have
that Windows is validly licensed? Legit distributions of
Windows have certain very clear characterstics, since
piracy is such a big issue. Much information can be
