Yeah i agree with you thats crazy talk and its coming
from idiots who obviously do not have enough brain cells
to work out that MS Antispy is there to protect their
system against Spyware.
Either that or all this Anti-Microsoft crap is coming
from the Spyware companies themselves as they are getting
nervous about MS Antispy because they know this time next
year the majority of Windows users will be using it and
the days where their spyware can run free on peoples
systems are running out.
The update bug if thats what your problem is has been
well covered on these boards here is the manual fix for
that,

Right click on MSAS icon within systray and choose
shutdown.
Right click and "Save target as..."
