I also was having issues on sending mail from Office 2007. But the Office
help helped in eliminating this issue. Under tools- account settings, -then
highlight the account to change-click change-click more settings. From there,
select out going server, now experiment with each option, test it with , test
-Test Account Settings. I had to select the last one for the sending of
email...but all works well now. Hope this saves some people some grief...

Thanks Fred, I haven't got that far. We have an Exchange 2003 server and it
(Outlook 2007) says it isn't available. I had just removed Office 2003 and
then installed the beta. It can see Exchange is there but says the Exchange
server is unavailable can't make any connection to the exchange server
(should find and install automaticly)so it does not install to get any
further.

what authentication are you using? are you using rpc over http? do you have
a certificate for the exchange server?

Certificate, locally created, this exchange server is local only it is not
published to access from the internet.
