Beta 1 found nothing?

I'm being told by my windows desktop that "Warning!
Spyware detected on your computer!" I've tried a number of spyware detectors
and removed various files but still my PC underperforms, task manger is
disabled and the desktop message reappears. Microsoft' antispyware found
another items and removed it but still I get the message. What I don't
understand is how XP knows there's spyware yet Microsoft's antispyware
preduct can't find it!

Can anyone help - this is driving me mad.

Please follow plun's steps.

The "warning" you are seeing is from spyware in place on your system, not
from XP.
