I left my four year old sony vaio at home when I came out to Australia with the full intention of buying a new laptop while I was out here. However with my money now all but gone and don't start work until Monday I decided to get my parents to post over my old trusty laptop from home.

It's been picked up by DHL, it's in the post and it should be here in a couple of days.

So, what are the bets people. It's not been turned on for 5 months. Reckon it'll still work?? :-)

It's not the fact it was left for 5 months that I'd worry about, it's DHL ;)

I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt this time and say yes it will work

Your parcel is in safe hands but it might take a while to arrive.

It's here, and it works. Have to say, DHL did a good job. :-)

Nice one....I have always used DHL to send parcels etc to South Africa for my sisters, nieces and parents and they use DHL to send food parcels to me and we have never had any problems at all. Come to think of it, one of me dad's mates bought an old Lotus Esprit over here, stripped it down to lil pieces and most of it was shipped to South Africa bit by bit. Twas this blokes way of saving money and import charges....

Yeah, I was pretty impressed. And they tried twice to deliver to my home address, but when they couldn't get me the second time, they called me and arranged to deliver to my work address. I've only used them once, but I would say it was pretty impressive.

Mind you, I've taken my computer to bits now, so it might not be working soon. That's not DHL's fault though. haha.
