7-Zip was recommeded awhile back to me on the group here so I downloaded and
installed it. This program is much faster then any of the others and has
some wonderful options to it. I love it. I can view zip files as folders and
not have a problem accessing. It is small and runs very well under xp.

http://www.7-zip.org/

I'll second that. The only problem I have with Filzip, is how to replace
a file in an archive with another file.

PowerArchiver 6.11.0 - before they went shareware. I keep a copy
on cd at all times.

Seconded. I have been using PowerArchiver 6.11.0 for quite some time. IMHO
it is pretty much a winzip clone. Best of all it works. It has never
crashed on me.

PowerDesk version 4 w/ version 5 search component installed.
It allows to search inside of archives.
Also if you install version 5, it activates the sync folder option in
version 4.

What OS? What are your criteria for deciding? Most formats
compressed? Decompressed? Fastest? Which format? Most stable?
Easiest interface? Fewest clicks? Skinnable?
