I recently had to install a clean/new copy of XP Professional and would like to remove the old copy from a different drive. Is there a procedure that is recommended other than the ovious delete and backup data files? Are there hidden dangers lurking?

Thanks,

Steve

You did not state whether the different drive is a separate harddrive or a partition on the same harddrive. It will make a lot of difference.

Best way is to boot of the XP CD and delete and recreate the partition
that the old windows was on. Then reinstall Windows.
