best way to share dsl connection on xp home network?

running a two computer xp professional home network. what
is the best way to share the dsl connection. via some
sort of router or over the host/client connection?
currently using host/client connection and client is very
slow and has trouple 70% of time opening web pages

Go out and purcahse yourself a DSL/Cable router by such
as Netgear, Dlink, Linksis, etc.
