Decided to invest in new pc speakers.
Any recommendations for good 2.1 system.
To be used for music sure - but also used for spoken word stuff - internet
radio etc.
Within reason money not an issue.
Thanks, John

I can't say if it's really "The Best" or not, but I have heard lot of good
thing about the "BOSE". And even if it isn't "The Best" of quality I am
very sure it's one of "The Most Expensive" speakers many people are proudto
own.

I have Klipsch Promedia 2.1 that I am very happy with (about $140 on
sale). Best Buy had a bunch of speakers set up with a selection of music.
If you can audition some that is the best way to go.

Bose is typically thought of as overpriced junk in
audiophile circles. Certainly there is worse but at Bose
prices it is not such a great choice.

The best alternative will tend to be a separate amp and
traditional bookshelf speakers plus sub, not a "Computer"
speaker set. Spoken word and *some* internet radio may not
matter as much but with reasonable quality music the
difference should be fairly easy to discriminate.

Cambridge Soundworks, which is on the web, makes a 2.1 system called it's
MicroWorks. I'd recommend it, and it costs $149 U.S.

Hey! the man has the dole to burn and he wants to burn "The Best" way,
and BOSE is what I know it will give him "The Best Flame" <bg>

I have never even been tempted to investigate them. Any firm that
is ashamed to include prices in its advertisements is out, AFAIAC.
So is any firm that advertises "We recommend Microsoft <anything>".
