I am using a new Dimage IV scanner, and would like to get advice on what
size I should scan my slides at for optimal viewing on a DVD Player / TV?
The TV's size is 40".

Any help would be appreciated!

The TV doesn't matter at all, because you are limited to the resolution
it offers. And this is 720x576 (PAL), NTSC is similiar. So 800dpi should
already be sufficient for this purpose.

PS: FUP to comp.periphs.scanners, crossposts without a Followup-To are
considered bad style.

The size of the TV makes no difference. The format is the same no matter
what the picture size.

The current American TV standard is 525 lines by 30 frames per second
interlaced, which works out to 640 pixels by 480 pixels.

The formats used in HDTV are:

720p - 1280x720 pixels progressive
1080i - 1920x1080 pixels interlaced
1080p - 1920x1080 pixels progressive

The Scan Dual IV has a Job file that is:
Category: Screen
Name: 1920 X 1200.

The Category Screen Job file has several Screen resolutions.
In the printed Instruction manual it is on page 93.

In the printed Instruction manual, Job file use is described on page 34
Basic Scanning.
