It seems the Bank of England is to start printing money.

I'm keen to do my bit to help Britain's economy.  What would bethe
best printer to buy?

Nothing remotely modern, since manufacturers have started using
firmwares that recognize monetary images and put near-invisible ID
codes on printed pages. Scanners too for that matter, even if you
could find the right paper it's not likely so simple as scanning it in
and printing it off till you got caught.

Thanks for that - we learn something every day! But you've
mis-undersood me. McBroon seems to think we'll get out of the mess he's
created if we all "spend, spend, spend", and my post was directed at
learning what is the *most expensive* printer I might buy in my efforts
to help him and Britain's economy.
(That's the story I have ready for the Police when they come round
to see what I'm up to, and I'm sticking to it! <g>)

Then why stop at one printer?
