best printer for B&W photos

i'm beginning to experiment with digital B&W. which printer would you recommend
for this? I know that certain companies make special inks just for this
purpose, but i think they only work in epson printers. is epson the way to go
or can the the new canon's 850i/950i handle this job as well? thanks for your
opinions.

The new line of HP Photosmart printers may meet your needs. The Photosmart
7960 has 8 ink printing including a grayscale cartridge. The Photosmart 7660,
7760 and 245 printers also support the gray cartridge for nice grayscale
