Best Practive for update servers

Hi

On our domain controllers, I ask me if it is necessary to
install IE security update and new Media Player package
and security update. These servers are not use for
browsing or for listen music. Is it a good pratice to
install this type of package if it don't use on server or
this package update a shared components of windows?

Best practice would be to un install/disable what you don't use. (Media
player) And patch what you keep.

The less apps installed, less patches to keep up with, less chances for
patches to do harm.

If you don't use it uninstall/disable it if you can. If you can't
uninstall/disable it patch it. Test the patch first if you can.
