Hi,

I have an ASUS P4B Motherboard and I am pretty happy with it. I may build
another machine soon and I was wondering what the best ASUS P4 motherboard
for the money was. I am sure it may be a matter of opinion but I was just
curious.

Thanks,
Brian

I must agree. I just built a computer for my brother based around the
P4P800D and it is awsome. I used the Thermaltake Xaser III case with a 480W
power supply, 2.6 P4, 1 gig of DDR 3200 ram, Gforce4 MX 440 w/64MB video,
160GB Seagate SATA hard drive.
The system is a screamer. The 800MHz bus does make a lot of difference in
performance, as does the SATA drive. It is one of the fastest systems I have
tested to date, barring true dual proc machines. A hard disk benchmark using
the Matrox RT2500 disk performance test maxed at 122MB/sec, and a render
test on Lightwave 3D ran in just 41 sec, compared to 2:41 on my home dual
processor P3 550 oc to 566. And the fastest I have seen this frame render
was about 1:14 on a dual P4 1.4.

Total cost was just under $2000. And the feature set on the MB is
outstanding, 1394, USB 2.0, SATA raid, UDMA133 raid, gigabit LAN, 400MHz
Dual-channel DDR . The board can handle up to ten IDE devices. Overclock
features if you are into that.
All in all, a great buy.

Be seeing you
Duane
