We have 6 users that will be frequently working off site with there laptops.
We have tried using off line files and folders, but there seems to be many
issues with that. People would be working online while onsite, but would get
a message that says they are working offline. This was happening alot. We
have also recently had a user lose several updated files they were working
with offline and they did not synch. I am currently going to have them copy
and paste there entire folder to and from a flash drive. I am trying to
think of any possible issues with this and aslo think of any possible better
way. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Thank You,

CEV

I should mention that the users folders contain between 500MB and 1GB. How
well would the Briefcase option work? I would like them to save these files
on the local harddrive of there laptop and to a flash drive while they are
out of the building and have all three locations (the local HD, the
flashdrive, and the network drive) updated when they are here in the
building.

Thanks,

CEV

We had the same problem with offline files syncen for our external users. We
checked everything from hardware to software and found our problem solved by
updating windows XP to the next service pack.

We also had the problem with the popup of 'Offline Files, working offline'
while connected fysicaly in the office. This was not related to the other
problem and solved by allowing the DHCP port to use UDP and TCP access (or
just disable the firewall).
