Best Keywords

I do not have a photo cataloging program yet. I am having to make a decision
on how to write my keywords on my digital photo IPTC field. Will it hurt to
make the keywords in capitals? Will most indexing programs and photo
cataloging programs accept capitals, or would small letters be better, or
does it make a difference?... Just so you remember to always write the
keywords down in the IPTC field the same way everytime. Thank you very much,

Good question Sue. It really depends on the application processing the
keywords but it would be considered bad practice if the application made the
keywords case sensitive which is esentially what you are asking. An easy way
to test this is open the application and add one keyword "hello" and a
second one called "HELLO". In most cases you will get some sort of alert on
the entry of the second keyword.

The short answer is that it should not matter but it is dependant on the
application so it would be good to test it it before spending a lot of time
tagging images.

Hi Damien,

Have you used any IPTC editor with controlled vocabulary? I'm using ITag
(http://itagsoftware.awswa.com/) but now I'm dupplicating keywords.

Thanks!
Jose
