Hi,

Could some recommend the motherboard with the best integrated video?

I'm curious what's the most powerful video on a MB without buying a seprate
card.

Thanks,
Lee

Something with nVidia 6150; the Asus or MSI with the nVidia Quadro looks
good - it's a 'stable commercial platform', then the AMD 590G is now out.
I'm waiting for the AMD chipset (it's ATI's but produced since AMD took
over) boards then I'll get one.
Both chipsets (the Quadro is a form of the 6150) are quite cool; the AMD
has the smaller heatsink on it as the geometry of the die is smaller.

I second the 6150 based boards; Check Biostar and MSI. Some of these are
socket 939, some AM2, so look carefully. 939 w/ DDR (not DDR2) are
cheapest path these days, single-core or X2. Mucho bang-for-buck!

Motherboards all use $5 to $10 video chips to hold the cost down. Anyone
wanting a quality video signal ALWAYS installs a separate video card.

Thanks for the info!!1

Look for nVidia 6150/430 chipsets; Asus and MSI have them, as do several
others.
Then Asus and MSI have the nVidia Quadro boards, basically 6150 modified as
a 'Stable Commercial Platform'.
I'm hanging on for a board with AMD/ATI's 690G chip. It's a bit faster and
cooler than the 6150 but can't get it in the UK yet. Asus has it as
D-SUB/DVI with MSI and Gigabyte doing it as only D-SUB.

There's a new version of the 6100 chipset using a different
southbridge. It's in the new vista ready motherboards you see
popping up these days. I've seen it on an asrock and a biostar
socket 754 motherboard at newegg. One downside, only one ide
channel, not two. The asrock has pretty good onboard sound for a
$50 board.
