Mike

I've got the SOED v1 on a old CD lurking under a lot of dust
somewhere in the depths of my SOHO. Also had a "Collins English"
somewhere, but can't find it.

Anyone know what's the best on offer ATM pls?

Chyars.

I use word web the free version
the new WordWeb 3.03 for Windows 95/98/2000/NT/Me/XP
is at
http://wordweb.info/free/
My version is 1.63 and I didn't realize they had a pro version until Just
now
when I looked up the link
If the 3.03 free version is naggy or something I can upload
my old copy somewhere

WordWeb is generally the best.

There are some other alternatives:

Everest Dictionary - http://www.free-soft.ro/index-en.html

WordNet - http://wordnet.princeton.edu/obtain

Pardon – This was discussed elsewhere in this news group as well as the
location for the free ware version.

No, it's fine. I just checked mine and it is 3.03. No nags, no problem.
