Which do you regard as the best freeware download websites?

There are a few on my new freeware webpage.

Nice page. Your link to ToniArts EasyCleaner though is to the ripoff
site. Toni's home page is here...

Danima is ripping off people for a yearly subscription of 19.95 to be
able to download Toni's free software.

You can read Toni's remarks of the Damina site on the link I gave above.
Toni's support forum is here...

Thought you'd like to know. ;)

none of the links seem to work. ever hear of an "a href" tag?

The kind folks in alt.html mentioned this too. (http://tinyurl.com/4cmfe) In
short, I'm keeping my code nice and simple for now. I want the URLs to be
visible, but I don't want to create anchor tags for every one. I have no
desire to activate the links at this time. (But this page isn't necessarily
in a form of completion either.)

Gary Beene has an informative list that includes site features and his
criteria for selection.

http://www.garybeene.com/free/fr-sites.htm"

The outstanding contribution of his list is that he has provided both a
ready made list of criteria to consider AND the supporting data. If
you disagree with his reasoning, you can apply your own easily.

I would -- of course! -- weight criteria differently. I also think
sites with quite different objectives are inappropriately evaluated.
To use an example close to home, consider the Pricelessware sites
versus a large archive/catalog. Gary assigns a point for any site with
more than 500 files, another point for 1000+, and a point for either
editorial or user ratings. Pricelessware falls short in all areas, yet
I would argue that it does a fair job of rating software as the typical
subcategory only has one or two items.

This illustrates the extent of Gary's contribution. With only a little
additional effort I can adapt the criteria to create a list that is
more meaningful to me. A little more effort applies those criteria to
a new site.

I look forward to the next iteration. Each one really is better than
the next. Who knows, in a few years we may even see this information
presented as a spreadsheet we can manipulate! (LOL)

Nice site. Nicely organized.

I'd never heard of "Real Free Software," so I went there, I found some
shareware. Obviously some of the sites are not purely freeware sites.
Caveat emptor.
