I would like to clone my C drive so I can replace it with a larger
drive. I would like the cloned copy to be bootable so I can then copy
it back to the new C drive. Suggestions for a freeware program?

I was looking for the same thing. After searching, HDCopy and XXCopy
work only for Win 9X. Could not find freeware for WinXP and ended up
purchasing Acronis TrueImage.

I think many people would like a bootable XP clone. Kan is working on
an XP compliant version of xxcopy if I'm not mistaken. The 9x version
works like a charm.

This site has a possible solution, but it's not coming up for me right
now. I remember it looked interesting, but I don't recall the details:

Linux: might be possible to run from floppy or bootable CD:

When you fdisk/format your new drive, just choose to make it bootable. Once
you do that, all you need do is copy the existing C drive to it using
anything that will copy...even Windows Explorer.

As far as that goes, most drive manufacturers include a program to do the
above for you.

Great program. Made an image of c: drive (15GB) in under 20 minutes. Can
restore the image in around 3-5minutes - well impressed!
