Hi,
Since I can't get the XP defrag software to work on my application
partition...all other partitions can be defragged..???

I have multiple HD's and each is partitioned into several partitons...the
2nd HD had all my applications..Drive D......OS is on 1st drive...partition
C...

I can't defrag or back up the Application partition....it just hangs up...I
have tried in Safe Mode...did all the disk clean ups....can't even get the
SFC /scannow to to it's thing....all other partitions can be defragged,
backed up, etc...just not my application partition..?????...PC and all
application appear to be working judt fine....

Any comment...ideas.....disk optimizing software...ANYTHING...??

Thank You,

I use VoptXP from www.goldenbow.com . 30 day trial period. Works good.
Has utilities as well. I bought it. Beats the built in defrag 10 to 1.

Here are a few to look into. I'd suggest running the trial versions of
each, then choosing the one that suits your needs and tastes the best.

Diskeeper, by Executive Software - www.diskeeper.com

O&O Defrag, by O&O Software - www.oo-defrag.com.

PerfectDisk, by Raxco - www.raxco.com

I hopt this helps -

I have tested all three and decided that O&O is absolutely the best. Also
the most expensive at $60., but worth it if you need the best. There are
various modes of defrag, including Stealth mode and Space mode which
optimize your HD better than any other defrag app out there.

MCP Mag had a nice write up on these 3 last yr and O&O came out #1.
Cheers!

Try Executive Diskeeper, this is a great program, the support is wonderful
and the product rated the best. You can get a free trial as well. You will
never use another one. www.diskeeper.com This product keeps my system
running at optimum.
