Best Color All In One?

I need to replace my Brother MFC with a new all-in-one. Reliability is the
most important criterion. I need a network (Ethernet) printer and would
prefer color. The magazine ratings are no help, one mag loves the Samsung
while another hates it....

What are some real world recommendations?
Thanks

PCMAG AND PCWORLD WILL GIVE YOU SOME INSIGHT TO MAKE A CHOICE

They help a bit, but they contradict also. One mag loved Samsung's AIO,
while another mag panned the same unit! I've used a couple of Brother MFCs
over the past 3 years and they've been pretty unreliable. PC Mag and the
others focus on minutia I don't care for, big deal if one machine is
slightly better on pictures. I want a robust, always works, home office
machine. If you had to buy an AIO for the next 2 years, what brand would
you buy?
thx

IN THAT CASE THEN I WOULD CONSIDER CANON AND HP.

I don't know what your price range is or how much printing you are planning to
do but have you considered a laser?
HP and Oki make excellent colour all-in-one lasers, very relaible and if you
are doing a lot of printing they are cheaper per page in general.

What features do you need?
Photo printing, FAX, automatic two-sided printing, camera card slots,
automatic document feeder?
How many pages printed per month?
Do you need legal size scanning?
Multiple input trays?

You might take a look at the Photosmart 2610 (flatbed, no automatic
document feed, wired network, optional automatic duplexer, standalone
FAX, PC FAX send, camera card slots, photo printing, etc) or the
Officejet 7410 (flatbed, automatic document feeder, wired and/or
wireless network, automatic duplexer, standalone FAX, PC FAX send,
camera card slots, photo printing, multiple input trays, etc). See

I have used both the above extensively and currently own the Photosmart
2610.

I should have specified initially I wanted laser. We print 200-400 sheets
per week, almost all B&W, but might as well get color for the small price
increase. A-Size (8 1/2 x 11) is sufficient, but I want an Ethernet plug
for my router. Single tray is fine. Need a copier, fax and printer. Use
Efax, so don't need pc-fax. Big issue is reliability. I need to able to
leave town for a while and not worry about my wife calling, "The printer's
F-ed up"!
HP, OKI and Canon seem like candidate companies so far.
Thanks for the feedback
