Hey all!

As I've recently been experiencing crashes caused by my normally
well-behaved 8500DV AIW drivers, I figured it was time to upgrade as I
haven't been keeping them current for a few months. Having read about
the problems many people have had with the latest 3.8 drivers, I've
downloaded the 3.7 set. My question is this: as I have pre-Catalyst
drivers currently installed, am I best off uninstalling the drivers
(standard, WDM capture, remote wonder) and control panel, or installing
on top of them? I also saw some recommendations to stick to the old
"WDM, no reboot, drivers, reboot, control panel, reboot" order than the
new one recommended by ATI. Any suggestions, tips, warnings?

TIA,

Gary

Uninstall everything ATI using the add-remove control panel. Some people go
even farther, using REGEDIT to delete every reference to ATI and scrubbing
the drive clean of every old ATI file that might accidentally be left
behind.

Then install the new stuff the way ATI says.

In the driver forum at www.rage3d.com is a thread listing the procedure for
a clean install. In your case, it's worth the extra trouble.
