Hi all,

I'm looking for the best pci satteliete decoder that will also work with cable..
I currently have cable and plan to split the signal so I can view it on my PC
too, but I may switch to satteliete in the near future so I need a card that
does both.

Any reccomendations ? (preferably under $120)

Regards,
Chris

To receive satellite signals you need a special receiver which takes the
down-converted signals from the LNB at the satellite dish.
The only PCI decoder I know is for FTA (Free to Air) satellite channels.

Cable networks use standard TV frequencies and their own scramblers.
You can get a PCI TV tuner which will receive these frequencies, just
like a conventional TV set, but you would need a "cable-box" to decode
scrambled channels.

Surely there is software that can decode cable/sat ? (if not I suppose my only
option is to use to a second decoder box and feed video from that ?)
