Best BIOS version for A7V333

I have been using 1018 for about a year with no problems. This is the last
BIOS for this board since it has been discontinued.

Any opinions as to which was the most stable BIOS for the A7V333.
The troublesome mobo won't accept ANY PS/2 keyboard anymore
but leaving the CMOS battery out overnight allowed the board
to boot up and recognize a USB board.
Now the video keeps crapping out.
We must try another video card but maybe this board is screwed.
I see there is a beta 1018 beta BIOS out now, any good?

I agree with this post. I have been using this board with an XP 2400+ cpu in
it for quite a while now with no problems. I have no idea why ASUS labelled
this board a "333" as it seems to top out at 266. I did try to use a 2500
Barton cpu at one stage and even with the latest bios update, it would not
behave.
It could be time for you to have an upgrade.

Becouse it is!!! On one of my system I ran a Barton 250 at 333 FSB, very
fast.

I have been using the 1018 beta for a long time with no problems using 133
and 166 fsb processors - but I have a rev 2.0 which is supposed to support
166fsb. Not sure if a bios flash would sort out your keyboard / video
problem, but only one way to find out. There are also unofficial bioses
about.

Wonder why ASUS left this boards version as '1018 beta' ??
Almost like they forgot about it. Are there any fixes/advantages
of note with this 1018 beta as compared to 1017 ??

The stability problems turned out to be due to a cheap wonky power
supply. Now the PS/2 port is still dead but a USB kboard works.
Either the PS damaged the board or the first buyers of the computer
did something stupid to it. Stability has been restored. :-)
