Cirene

I am looking for a new ASP.NET hosting company.

I prefer...
UPTIME, RELIABILITY and SPEED!!!!
ASP.NET 3.5 support
SQL Server support
Good, proactive customer support

Any thoughts? What are your experiences? (I trust you all more than
reviews.)

(sorry i originally posted this in the wrong adonet forum - sorry)

Hi,

Go for some rating document of web hosters for that...
i guess www.discountasp.net do provide all the facilities you want..

other renowned web hosting can be ixhosting... actually there are lot
of them...

best of luck

I know that the files will be hosted in the UK. I just didn't know if the
sites will be a bit slower to people surfing in the US? :)

Is this reliable and fast for people browsing sites in the US?

I'm not sure what you mean...

HostingUK.net, as its name suggests, is a hosting company based in the UK.
If you use them to host a site, that site will be hosted in the UK.

Sites in the US, or anywhere else, have no bearing on it...

I used dotnetpark.com.

Support is good.

Uptime and reliability, I haven't had issues. But my site is not hit alot.
Aka, I can't really speak for those.

...

1. Yes, If you primary target group in US then get hosting in US. UK hosting
will be slower for people in US.
2. You will get cheaper hosting in US than in Europe.

I recommend to visit www.webhostingtalk.com forum. It's a #1 forum about
hosting providers.

Hello Cirene,

I'm for ORCSWEb, but you may find in a bit expensive.
But it's very very good

I'll throw CrystalTech into the mix (http://www.crystaltech.com).

Whatever you do, stay away from GoDaddy as a web host. They're good with
domain names, but their web hosting has been plagued with support issues
(some of the issues being the support technicians having no clue) as you can
see from scanning here, as well as the frontpage and expression web
newsgroups.

Hope this helps,

LOL thanks everyone. You guys are great.

ixwebhosting.com has piqued my interest but the reviews are not stellar. So
i have some thinking to do.

I've used webhost4life for years but (1) they charge you $15/website and (2)
limit you to 8 sites. :(

If you go to http://www.vistainter.com/ you will find comparisons (and user reviews) of most hosting companies.

The trouble is, that the glorious claims made by many companies on their sign-up page are not borne out in reality.
