Are we talking single home user or corporate 100+ PCs?

I have used Sophos for small business and at home and had no problems - trapped everything
we encountered and support was excellent - Costs about £100 for monthly CDs (less if you
don't want the CDs) and daily updates (sometimes during the day as well)

single home user!

Of the paid-for AV apps, Kaspersky seems to have the keenest following.

The most popular free ones are AVG and !Avast. I started with AVG, and got
fed up with its poor updating process. I changed to !Avast and wish I'd done
it earlier.

opinions please!:))

None, really.

I'm using Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition with the latest patch, and yet
when I ran the FixSQL patch, it detects virus in memory!

Why not use the EZtrust antivirus and firewall that is free for a year from:
http://www.my-etrust.com/microsoft/

I've just tried to get this; unfortunately, they send all the details in an
email that keeps telling me to click 'on the following link' to download -
when there's nothing there but a *blank space*...!

What on earth is going on...?

What's your problem?

I gave up on Norton - too buggy and slow, tried AVG didn't like it,
tried Avast, liked it but the detection wasn't good enough, I did the
free trials of Kaspersky and NOD32 and plumped for NOD32, no regrets
at all

Don't know.
Perhaps try it all over again.
If you order the free MS Windows Update CD (no cost, not even postage)
EZTrust comes along with it.
