Humm... It is an excellent question, to which nobody never answered here
before and I would like to thank you for having asked it.
The best antivirus software is the one I use.
The reason is that I have chosen it among several.
1- I have spend a lot of time to search for information and advices from
others users.I have googled during nights; I have visited security sites
(the ones an other guy has given, in a mail, juste above); etc...
2- Then, I decided to chose and to buy one.
Given that, do you actually think that I shall make myself look ridiculous
on a Worldwide News Group by saying : "I was wrong ?".
No, no, boy.... even if that was the case, I would certainly not be stupid
enough to recognise such a mistake.
It is a matter of dignity.

i've looked at a lot of tests and reviews over the past few months, and
like Kaspersky the best. Kaspersky also fairs well against trojans and
rootkits. however, it won't run on my laptop without crashing IE and
Explorer. it runs fine on the other machines although a total scan can
take 5 hours sometimes. NOD32 is often many times faster for the
on-demand scan.
i'd suggest reading some comparative AV test results and trying several
AV trials.

That's like asking which car is best. They're all good, it just
depends which one you like
meaning your own personal preferences. I have used Norton and McAfee
with good success, but as they changed I preferred something else,
because I didn't want a firewall included with the AV program. I prefer
separate items.
