does anybody have any experience with this inexpensive film scanner
(with ICE)? What about any reviews, online or otherwise? I haven't
been able to find anything on it.

thanks.

Not with that model, but I had a ScanWitt 2720S.

Benq's Service stinks. The Scanner was slow and lasted one year. I junked
it.
Benq has two service centers, one in California and one in New Jersey.
Benq will not sell or give out service manuals.
All service on Benq devices must be shipped to one of those service centers
for any service, in warranty on out of warranty.

....just because they will "not sell or give out service manuals"? Hardly
a definition of bad service, IMO.

Try looking under Acer Scanwit 2750. If this is same as yours, there are
plentiful reviews.

I have an Acer Scanwit 2720, and I agree with a review that said it was
very sharp (of course, only at 2700 dpi). I compared a scan of some
Polaroid slide film with a photomicrograph of the slide. The microscope
photo showed much more grain detail, but when re-sized to 2700 dpi, the
two images were essentially the same.

I have not used mine overmuch, as I have not yet got to grips with
colour profiles, etc., so cannot comment on reliability.

I've used a 2740S with ICE for the past 3 years and had mostly satisfactory
results.
Main criticism are the flimsy plastic film holders and the fact that Vuescan
'batch copy' appears incompatible in so far as 1st and 2nd frames scanned
output OK, but remainder are always totally blank.
So its 'scan one - check one' routine. Takes a bit longer but, what the
hell, it works for me.
Price was a consideration at the time of purchase so no real grumbles, but
would go for Minolta or Nikon now.
