Belkin F5D7001 Drivers?

Belkin do not seem to be in any hurry to release Beta drivers for this
PCI wireless adaptor and Vista tries to install the device as a Broadcom
Network Adaptor but claims there's an error with no apparent solution.
I've tried installing the XP driver but Vista comes back with an
'invalid inf file' error. Does any one know of an alternative driver
that works?

Thanks

Did you have any luck getting this to work as I have the same card and when
Dell finally deliver my new PC I'm planning on installing Vista.

I emailed Belkin about this and they advise that the driver(s) are still
being developed, perhaps no-one told them Vista was coming, most of the other
hw manufacturers seem to do beta drivers for Vista, anyway, gripe over with.
I ended up uninstalling the driver from Device Manager and letting Vista
rediscover it, and it appeared to install and say the device is working OK.
The only other issue is with my Router not bradcasting the SSID, Vista seems
to be unable to reconnect to the network using the Broadcom driver if the
SSID is not being broadcast. Turning the broadcast on allowed Vista to
reconnect, and stay connected if the SSID is then turned off, but it fails to
reconnect on the next boot.

A number of other threads list similar issues as well.

Hi
I followed your advice about uninstalling the card in device manager and
turning off SSID. Vista picked up my card and reinstalled the drivers,
however it tells me there are no wireles networks in range, which is strange
as I'm sitting 6 feet away from my router. Any ideas what I can try next.

I also have the same card. At first i could not see my accesspoint, only 5 or
6 other network in my building. I tried the belkin driver but got the
'invalid inf file' error.
The current chanel of my accesspoint was set to 12 at the time. By changeing
the chanel to 2, the accesspoint suddenly appeared in Vista.
I could also connect to the internet after a while. But now the connection
is super slow. I tried to ping a norweginan newspaper site (vg.no) and got a
ping of around 800 to 1200 ms. When i ping the same site from XP i have
around 10-15 ms. Anyone else have this problem?

Thanks,
Arve.
