Not sure whether this is a Windows XP question, or maybe an Internet
Explorer question -- if the latter, please let me know.
Every weekday, I download data (just a small .csv or Excel file, using IE6
as browser) from a site that has a Download link. In Win98SE, a click on
the Download link button results in a Save As dialog box that enables me to
save the file immediately. In WinXP, a click on the Download link button
results in the creation of an Excel file (containing unformatted .csv data)
that is of little use to me. To get what I want, I have to right click the
Download link button and select Save Target As...
Can anyone tell me what causes the different behaviour and how I can get XP
to act like 98 did?
