I am having a huge problem with Access 03.

I just bought Office 2003 last week and last night tried
to start a database.

The problem is when I try to create a new database I get
an error message that says, "Cannot open a database
created with a previous version of your application."

Then I press the help button on the error dialog box and
I get this message, "Cannot open a database created with
a previous version of your application. (Error 3041) You
tried to access a database that is in an outdated
format. Compact the database and then try the operation
again."

I am not trying to open any existing database, in fact I
don't have any existing database on my computer right
now nor did I even have a previous version of Access or
Office.

All I want to do is create my own database and I can't
seem to get past this error message at all.

I tried putting in the Office cd and I clicked the option
to repair installation-it didn't make a difference.

So I completely uninstalled Office and reinstalled it and
that didn't make a difference at all.

Somebody please help me.

I have spent too many hours digging through help files on
Access which don't help me since it seems the error
message is not relevant to my problem.

I am getting very frustrated and any help would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi:

Have you created a new database with Access 2003 and will it not open?

When creating new database did you use the "Blank Database" option to create
the database?

I can't get that far to create anything. And I have used
the blank database option and it tells me the same thing.
