Well, this is the best place to ask and learn. Don't be afraid of dumb
questions. You could start at Intel's site and look at new
motherboards. Check out Intel's D865. You'll see terms like SATA hard
drives,RAID support, hyper-threading,.. Do a search on these terms or
post a question here. Search for reviews on video cards, hard
drives,...
Here's a system to start with and search for all these terms: Intel's
D865 motherboard, comes with different options; Pentium 4 with
Hyper-threading; Dual channel memory banks; SATA hard drives set up as
RAID 0; Western Digital or Seagate hard drives; ATI video cards
Keep reading any interesting looking posts here and before you know
it, you'll know what you're talking about! Keep posting!

Agreed with all above. Just jump in. What you have to realise is that
there is *always someone* who will tell you a certain piece of hardware is
crap. Take it with a grain of salt and take all opinions into account.
Ignore anyone with an obvious bias towards AMD/Intel/ATi/Nvidia. For the
better part if you have a component of one company, another company will
have one to match it. No-one is well out ahead of the field yet/anymore.

Now I've said that, In my opinion you should aviod the following.

5400rpm drives
Celerons
FX5200's

Apart from that you can't go wrong really.
It's alla jigsaw nowadays.

You might want to substitute the Biostar M7NCD Pro mobo.
