I have a very basic question that I can't seem to glean the answer from
the FP help files. I have created a site and have it running through a
yahoo server (it is my own domain). Everything works fine except that
the world has full access to all my files on the site. Is the creation
of a subsite and all the link changing that will go with it the only
way I can limit access to the majority of the folders? Thanks

What do you mean exactly?

If you're talking about people browsing your folders you can put a
index.htm(l) page in each folder or make them not browsable...or are you
wanting to limit access to certain areas of your web (Yahoo doesn't allow
subwebs if I remember correctly)..or are you worrying about people stealing
images (no you can't protect them).

How many more guesses do I get? :-)

You get as many guesses as the number of times he repeated the question!

Sorry for the lack of details. I want to make it so the folders are not
browseable. Right now, I can go into any of them from IE with no
restrictions. Thanks

Sorry for the multiple posting, it doesn't show anyting after I click
on the Post option.

If each folder had a default file in it, you would not get a browse list.

In other words, if a) your host allows directory browsing, and b) you have a
folder with just gif images in it, then anybody in the world can browse
through them. BUT if you know that your host uses 'index.htm' or
'index.html' as a default filename, then if you put a file by that name in
that folder, even one that says "naughty - naughty", that is what they will
get when they browse to that folder.
