it is impossible to sheare folders. Also a ping between PCs don't give
results.

I use automatic DHCP.

In the past I used fixed IPs and so the PCs culd share folders and the
printer!

How can I do the same with DHCP?

The Network is:

A router linksys in the middel of the star;
4 PCs wireless connected: 2 WinXP Prof and 2 WinXP Home

Thank n advance for your suggestions.

If they can all get ot the Internet, the problem is not a general networking
issue. Make sure any firewall software is configured to trust the local
subnet. In fact I would recommend turning off all security until you get
file sharing working. You can always disconnectthe phone cable form the DSL
modem until you get it working. Remember the XP firewall blocks pings by
default. After you have disabled all of the firewalls, on any two PCs (pc1
and pc2) open a CMD window and do an ipconfig. At PC1, ping 127.0.0.1. If
that works, ping it's own IP address. Then ping pc2's ip address. Then the
default gateway. If you can ping itself and the default gateway there's
still something on the other pc that's blocking.

Thanks a lot.

I do the suggested tests without Firewalls disconnecting the DSL cable.

DHCP with WinXP is usually a no-brainer.

IPCONFIG on all PCs yields?

All PCs in same workgroup?
All PCs have unique IDs?
At least one folder shared on all PCs?
File and Printenr sharing enabled on all PCs?
For simplicity, turn the Guest Account ON, on all PCs.

Firewalls: All PCs must lie in the same trusted subnet

How kan I check this?
