Befuddled

I followed the disjointed so-called "Help" menus in
Access2K in setting up security and am totally befuddled.
I found nothing in Help giving step by step instructions
to build security from scratch. The hypertext help takes
you all over the place into an array of confusion.
Moreover, I built the database and should be considered
the Administrator, right? Yet, I can't even get into the
database with the password I assigned.

Don't rely on the Help file: check out the Security FAQ

Read it extremely carefully a couple of times, and work on a copy of your
database.
